At least seven of Jehovah's Witnesses have been subjected to torture, including electric shocks, suffocation, and intense beatings on the first floor of the Russian Investigative Committee's building at , d 47, in Surgut.

On February 15, 2019, mass searches went underway in Surgut comparable to Hitlers rounding up of Jews during the post-WWII era.

Members of the religious group were taken to the Investigative committee office and interrogated with Where are meetings' of Jehovah's Witnesses held? Who attends the meetings? What are the elders' last names? What is your mobile phone password, etc.

Witnesses who refused to reveal details about their fellow worshipers' were detained after legal representation left and according to victims, bags were placed over their heads sealed with tape, hands were tied behind their back and they were beaten.

Afterward, they were stripped naked, doused in water and elected with stun-gun by Russian agents. Their torture continued for at least two.

To date, three Witnesses still remain behind bars.

How does Russia attack on Jehovah's Witnesses hurt the US?

Russias attack on Jehovah's Witnesses comes on the hills of the Trump administration recently announced that it was suspending one of the last major nuclear arms control treaties between Russia.

The move by Russian authorities to target Jehovah's Witnesses who are widely viewed as an American Religion may actually be the Russian Governments way of letting the United States know that they're not as invulnerable as they let on.

The 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, generally known as the I.N.F. put in place to resolve a crisis that occurred in the 1980's when the Soviet Union launched an SS-20 missile, capable of carrying three nuclear warheads to which the US responded the Pershing II missiles.

The deal was cut by President Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail S. Gorbachev, and was established to ban weapons that could trigger a nuclear war and reach their targeted destination in some 10 minutes.

However, due to violations of the treaty, according to the White House, Trump confirmed that the US was pulling out of the deal.

Russias attack on Jehovah's Witnesses has been confirmed by multiple eyewitnesses and although Fox News reported on Feb 23rd that Russian plan on looking into the incident, the reality is more likely that they already knew and are trying to save face internationally while secretly targeting the United States through religions persecution of Jehovah's Witnesses who had their modern-day stat on US soil.
