Beloved KTLA Journalist Sam Rubina Dead at 64



Sam Rubin, a beloved entertainment anchor and reporter for KTLA in Los Angeles, passed away at the age of 64. He died unexpectedly, from an apparent heart attack according to reports. Rubin was known for conducting upbeat live interviews with actors and musicians and was a mainstay at premiere red carpets and movie junkets. His last interview was with Jane Seymour.


Rubin joined the station's morning news team in 1991 and was highly respected in the industry. He received multiple honors from local news journalism groups and was awarded a lifetime achievement award from the Southern California Broadcasters Association.


Rubin is survived by his wife, Leslie, and four children.

His unexpected passing has led to an outpouring of tributes from Hollywood figures and fans alike. Ryan Reynolds, Jamie Lee Curtis, and others have expressed their condolences and shared memories of Rubin's kindness, enthusiasm, and professionalism throughout his career.
