Dear Meta: My Followers Are Not Seeing the Positive Posts

Dear Meta,
We need to talk about what is happening to our feeds—and to the millions of people who tune into them every day.
We are creators, builders, storytellers, and community leaders. Every day, people hit "Follow" on our pages. They don't do it by accident. They do it because they want to see progress. They want to see people building, hiring, healing, and lifting each other up. They follow us because they want a reason to believe in something better.
Yet every single day, we watch that connection get quietly severed.
When we post about real solutions, local impact, or genuine human progress, our posts sit in ghost towns—reaching a tiny fraction of the people who explicitly asked to see them. But the moment content is designed to outrage, divide, or provoke an argument, it gets amplified to thousands.
We aren't asking for a handout. We aren't asking you to artificially boost our content. We are asking a simple, fundamental question:
Why are you hiding our work from the very people who asked to see it, only to replace it with a fight they never wanted?
You call this "engagement." But to every creator pouring their heart into making something good, it feels like censorship by algorithm. You hold back the constructive stories, push the anger, and then tell us our audience "just wasn't interested."
They were interested. They clicked follow. You just chose not to deliver.
People can handle hard news. What they cannot handle—what is actively burning society out—is a feed that systematically hides the proof that anyone is still trying. When your algorithms reward conflict over community, you don't just shape a feed; you distort reality. You trick millions of people into believing the world is far colder and more hopeless than it actually is.
That isn't human nature. That is an algorithmic choice.
So today, we are calling on Meta to make a different choice:
Honor the Follow: If a user chooses to follow a page, show them that page's content. Stop burying decent posts simply because they didn't start an argument.
Give Us Radical Transparency: Show us the real metrics. Tell us how many of our followers could have seen a post, and exactly how many your ranking system chose to hold back.
Until that happens, this letter stands for every creator who has ever wondered if their voice no longer mattered, and for every follower who wonders where all the good news went.
Every time you suppress a positive story, you feed a darker world than the one we are trying to build. You built the platforms. You set the rules. You can change them today.
Sincerely,
Joseph Bonner
And every creator who is tired of the censorship
