Center For Disease Control and Prevention | Science News

Vaccines against influenza during the 2016-17 season result more effective than in previous years. According to the CDC, three seasons ago (2014-16) the vaccine had a 19% efficiency in keeping most strains of the influenza virus out of people’s systems. This season, however, the vaccine’s effectiveness was 48% overall. The big jump includes 43% influenza A (H3N2) and 73% on influenza B - total effectiveness.
