Some trials end with a sentence. This one ended with a note. The Lindsay Clancy jury told a Massachusetts judge it could not reach a unanimous verdict after roughly 38 hours, TMZ reported. A mistrial was declared and later held.

Clancy has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the deaths of her three children. The state says planning. The defense says postpartum psychosis and medication. Twelve people could not pick a single story.
