How did you get started?
My career started when I got a part-time role as a teller at a local bank. I had dreams of fashion and modeling, but I put them aside to pursue a career in banking. I studied and worked for many years until I was hired at Bank of NY Mellon, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley. One of the obstacles I faced was the cost of my education, since I grew up in Trinidad & Tobago, the island just below where Rihanna grew up. We both had big dreams but chose different paths. I came to the US at 16 and worked after school, saving to pay my way through college.
What are some of the latest products, services, and programs you are offering in 2023? How are your services helping people achieve success?
In 2023, my shop on the boardwalk will be open for business. I will offer barbering services as well as spa and male products so that men can look and feel their best. When people look great, they feel good about themselves and go out into the world presenting their best version to the public, which translates into success. What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced in your career pursuit and how have you overcome them? As a minority and a foreigner, I have had to struggle for a place in the American job market. I have worked hard to become an expert and present myself to the best of my ability. I haven't been given many opportunities, so the ones I have been given, I have given my all!

Tell us a story about a time when you felt like giving up
There were many times when I felt like giving up. I was in a 14-year marriage, trying to balance my career, school, marriage, and raising a young child. Some days, it was overwhelming, and I didn't want to continue. However, I persisted for the sake of my family, particularly my young son. I wanted to accomplish something that he would be proud of. Despite the failure of my marriage, he kept me motivated. I didn't give up because of him.
