A California woman was gored by a bison at Yellowstone National Park, officials confirmed Monday, after attempting to take a photo with the animal.
The 72-year-old was flown to an Idaho hospital Thursday according to National Park services and sustained "multiple goring wounds."
The women's condition was unknown as of Monday.
According to a statement released by Yellowstone, the woman "approached within 10 feet of a bison multiple times to take it's photo."
Visitors are encouraged to keep 25 yards away from wild animals at the park.
